Should my toddler be using a screen at all?+
Honestly, the less the better. The WHO recommends no screen time for children under two, and less is better after that. Minly is for the moments a screen happens anyway: it is built to be calm, to lose a child's interest, and to end on its own.
What age is Minly for?+
Toddlers, around 1–3 years. Everything responds to a simple touch, so there is nothing to read and nothing to learn first. For younger babies, the WHO recommends no screen time at all, and we agree.
Is it safe? What about ads and data?+
There are no ads, no accounts, no tracking and no links out of play. Minly collects no personal data at all, and play works fully offline.
What's free?+
Bubbles and Touch Canvas are free forever, along with the Parent Zone, PIN and wind-down timer. One purchase of $9.99 opens all 19 worlds.
Why no subscription?+
A subscription needs you to keep paying, and apps that need that tend to need your child's attention too. Minly is one purchase, once, and it's shared with your family through Family Sharing.
How do I stop my child leaving the app?+
To leave Minly, tap the top of the screen three times quickly and enter your parent PIN. To stop your child reaching the home screen at all, turn on Apple's Guided Access. There's a step-by-step guide on the For parents page.
How does the wind-down timer work?+
Choose a time in the Parent Zone. When it runs out, Minly doesn't cut off abruptly: the lights dim, motion slows, sound fades out, touches stop, and Min falls asleep. Play ends quietly, without a warning screen to argue with.
Does it work offline and on iPad?+
Yes to both. Minly never needs a connection during play, and it works on both iPhone and iPad.
Is there an Android version?+
Not yet. You can ask to be told when it's ready on the Android page. We'll send one email, once.
Using Minly
I forgot my parent PIN. What do I do?+
On the PIN screen, tap “Forgot PIN?” and confirm with your iPhone's passcode, Face ID or Touch ID. You can then set a new PIN in the Parent Zone.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?+
Open the Parent Zone, go to Minly Premium and tap Restore. Your purchase is tied to your Apple Account, and family members in your Family Sharing group get it too.
I have an offer code. Where do I enter it?+
Open the unlock screen in Minly and tap “Redeem code” at the bottom, or redeem it directly in the App Store app from your account page.
Can I turn off the sounds or vibration?+
Yes. Sounds and haptics each have their own switch in the Parent Zone. Bedtime worlds never vibrate.
Is this the same Minly as the celebrity video app?+
No. Minly Baby is an independent app for babies and toddlers, made by one parent in Germany. It has nothing to do with any other company called Minly. In the App Store it's “Minly: Baby & Toddler Sensory”.
